Summer with its good weather and longer days is here but with the high price of gasoline, we are going to have to content ourselves with activities not too far from our homes. All the families will be outside, reminding us of when we lived in our native countries in Latin America where on a daily basis scores of people constantly enjoy the outdoors. Please remember to protect yours and your children’s skin from the UVB and UVA rays from the sun by applying a well-known brand sunscreen when exposed to the elements. Also drink plenty of liquids and do not forget to apply mosquito repellent when you are outside at dusk. eSpanglish Magazine is being recognized by name now and we are constantly receiving requests for mail delivery. We have added the public libraries to our points of distribution, and our website www.espanglishmagazine.com is up and running and visited every day by many Internet surfers. Close to 150 guests attended our Inaugural Spring party this past Friday, April 25th. The celebration took place at Ibiza Night Club where all our special guests accompanied us in our enjoyment. The food prepared by Las Cazuelas was delicious and the entertainment provided by Cerrito, Andra and Son Latino was superb! The evening began with a brief program in which our staff was introduced, followed by the report on the magazine’s progress and the community’s embracement. We thank each one of our announcers calling them by name, and then the fun began. Cerrito delivered a great show, followed by Andra, the newest Rock and Country singer, and ended up with the tropical vocal and percussion rhythms of Son Latino. The entire guests appeared to be enjoying themselves and some could not be still while listening to the music and joined in the dancing. We would like to extend our thanks to all of you who enhanced our celebration by honoring us with your presence. Following we are showing you a collage of snap shots taken during the party, along with a selection of the comments made afterwards. On this issue we are presenting information on the recently remodeled Coleman Community Center at the corner of Nolesnville Road and Thompson Lane, and the activities that are available for you and your family there, along with other articles that are sure to fill your summer days. Have a safe and enjoyable summer! Gloria Bishop, Editor Feedback from eSpanglish Party:
